EVM DAO Integration

Our partners at Kodex Data systems are doing exciting work with IPFS and EVM chain indexing, and are proposing in Fund 9 to create smart contracts giving people from EVM chains an onramp to switch their DAOs into the Cardano ecosystem with Done Collectively.

As part of this proposal, we plan to implement and test models for on-chain staking for project support and preference signalling, creating mechanisms for accountability and stake-building related to many possible projects any DAO could engage into.

Gitbook Integration

Document and knowledge management is a big challenge for many organizations. That goes double for decentralized organizations and community-based orgs, whose governance documents (and governance of those documents) are open to their ecosystems and/or to the public.

In this Catalyst F8 proposal, we are creating mechanisms for people to engage in the many small parts of organizational governance, with the results incrementally applying changes to public-facing, open-source documents that are commonly stored and presented in Gitbook.

We are also facilitating in-app maintainance of the same rich text (Markdown) as found in Obsidian, Gitbook, Github and other products and tools, with friendly, easy-to-use editing experiences and no technical experience needed.

Project proposals, other planning documents, knowledge-management and other organizational documentation are just some of the situations where everyone can enjoy the benefits of a simple underlying document format together with rich in-app user-experiences.

Other project goals include:

  • People can connect their governance documents, proposals and other materials in Done Collectively with Gitbook
  • Content from a Done Collective DAO flows into their connected Gitbook
  • Gitbook pull requests found in Github are displayed inside Done Collectively as proposals and/or change-proposals
  • People working in a Done Collectively DAO can engage with proposed changes, signaling to others their preferences around approving those changes.

Stay tuned for more progress on this Catalyst Fund 8 proposal.

Discord integration

Keep your realtime interactions in your preferred messaging systems, while capturing the key findings for promotion to people who may not have their fingers on the pulse of your Discord channels.

We are integrating Web3’s preferred messaging system wtih our organizational managability tools. Our automation creates channels and threads for working groups, projects, and proposals. We’ll support content archival and content promotion, bridging between realtime messaging and sticky news items relevant to most people in the organization.

Stay tuned for more progress on our Catalyst Fund 8 proposal.

Catalyst GPS Tooling

In Catalyst Fund 9, we’re working to apply the Done Collectively platform to clear and present problems and opportunities in the Catalyst governance process.

The GPS proposal for the future of Catalyst organizes the community around planning and objective-setting, in order to create strong alignments between funded proposals and the most important PURPOSES for the Catalyst ecosystem.

This principle-and-purpose-oriented approach planned by the GPS team is very closely aligned with our vision of decentralized management for cooperative enterprises and DAOs who need to create alignment and effectiveness to their goals.

Phase 1

The first phase of GPS governance will focus on creating alignment of purposes and objectives for use in project-level funding:

Layer 0: People together

Collaboration <3

Layer 1: Strategy and Dream

Our software workflows will facilitate this workgroup to find and commit to big-picture goal-states

Layer 2: Functional Perspectives

Given the presence of 5 functional groups, we’ll apply application workflows to facilitate working group to find and prioritize key Objectives aligned to the goal-states from the Strategy / Dream layer.

  • People and Culture
  • Structure and Process
  • Network and Ecosystem,
  • Products and Services
  • Growth and Impact

Phase 2

In the second phase of GPS governance, Done Collectively and community members will propose additional functionality to add to the platform, aligned to these objectives (particularly, those objectives within People and Culture and Structure and Process perspectives).

These might seek to increase:

  • utility and functionality
  • program health, stability and rewards
  • safeguards and effectiveness
  • alignment, transparency and accountability
  • … and other desired attributions of a high-functioning Catalyst administration.

Prioritized and budgeted, we will implement as many of these high-impact projects as is feasible using budget allocated from the funded F9 proposal and/or other sources of treasury.
